PROJECT ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
I YEAR FIXED TERM CONTRACT (potential to go permanent)

I'm recruiting for a global consultancy providing engineering services to the rail industry and who are looking for a highly capable Engineer to support their rapidly growing business.

My client is a premium provider of engineering services, with the expertise and technical capabilities to devise innovative solutions to their clients' transport project challenges. With extensive experience across all key disciplines, from rolling stock, signalling and telecommunications, to energy efficiency, safety management and operational planning, they support a client portfolio that ranges from some of the world's largest rail administrations to niche component suppliers. Their team in Australia consists of more than 100 engineers, project managers and technical specialists engaged in major rolling stock projects across NSW. They proudly possess a reputation for developing flexible and thoughtful solutions to the many challenges faced by their clients. They offer advisory, design and delivery services on projects in both the public and private sector.
In this Electrical Engineering role, you'll manage site activities including inspections, investigations, scope clarifications and direct contractor and subcontractor management. You'll oversee the QA/QC of engineering and design documents and communicate with contractors to ensure compliance to the client's policies and procedures. You will assist with electrical testing and quality documentation, ensuring client safety procedures are followed. You will also help with the review of electrical design works, liaising with multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects and packages are delivered. Part of your role will be to review processes and ensure compliance with scope of work and project specifications. You will be responsible for responding to technical queries and requests for information regarding changes to the scope of work. You will also be providing technical engineering support at site level to project execution teams.
Skills and experience
With at least five years' Electrical and/or Project Engineering experience (rolling stock preferred), you'll have:
* Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or similar
* Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
* Exceptional organisational and time management skills
* Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
* Organised and able to meet deadlines
Competitive package on offer to the successful candidate, initially on a 1 year fixed term contract but with the potential to transfer to permanent employment.
