Our client is a renowned consulting firm in the Rail industry. To cope with future expansion, they are inviting high calibre individual to join their team as Rail System Leader.
The incumbent will be leading the company offering for rail systems and signalling in Singapore. The role will encompass developing the current business, leading and growing the team, and technical direction across the area of systems engineering. This will include all aspects of the discipline including assurance and integration.
-Lead the company offering in all areas of Systems Engineering. That includes areas such as:
Full-lifecycle Systems Engineering, including Systems Assurance, Systems Integration,
Domains and services related to Rail E&M such as signalling systems, traction systems, rolling stock and other services such as EMC, ISA, etc.
-Lead the team based in Singapore, monitoring and planning resource needs and ensuring the correct level of skill a capability is brought to each project.
-Coordinate the activities of the professionals to act both as input to multi-disciplinary and specialist single discipline commissions;
-Provide technical direction, review and sign-off, for work done;
-Lead the development of the business within Singapore and the region;
-Instigate and oversee the training and staff development.
-Ensure our work is carried out in a safe and reliable way, which is commensurate with a caring professional organisation;
-Support the firm’s compliance in maintaining ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 requirement.
-Lead and engage in promotional activities across the wider industry, and motivate others in the project team and within the Group. In a project role you will also act as either a Project Manager or Technical Director.
-Oversee the production, checking and approval of high quality design solutions, reports, specifications and drawings which cover a range of project requirements. To do this you will initiate and lead on management processes to assist in the efficient delivery of our services and deliverables, monitor and review progress and performance, ensuring that project timescales and targets are met.
-Liaise directly with major clients regularly you will contribute in the business growth for your team and the wider company business;
-Select and prepare bids, tenders, and conditions of engagement, and control investment spend in the bid/tendering process;
-Provide technical guidance for the production of feasibility studies, scheme and detailed designs, together with advice, feasibility, design, operation and input to the design and construction of rail and related projects in the region and globally;
-Develop, mentor, shape and guide less experienced staff and support management colleagues in their technical development. Our skills networks are global and you will interact with these and encourage staff to contribute and benefit from them.
-Over 10 years of solid experience in relevant rail projects.
-Proficiency in hands-on systems engineering, including for example requirements management, integration, system development, V&V, T&C, Systems Assurance etc.
-Relevant domain expertise in one of the following: signalling, traction/power, communications or rolling stock.
-Strong Project Management skills.
-Experience working in Singapore, South East Asia or East Asia.
-Strong Business Development skills and passion, capability to manage client relationships and win work. -Highly preferable a strong network of established contacts in Singapore and ASEAN.
-Bid and tendering experience, including both technical and commercial parts.
-Track record and a passion to recruit, mentor, motivate and develop the skills of team members.
