Assistant Project ManagerKent based multi-disciplinary civil engineering and construction company, delivering projects that are time and safety critical in environments within the Rail, Transport and Power sectors.Our projects range from £100,000 up to £2 million; specialising in works such as platform & station upgrade work, sub-station construction including design, equipment enclosures and bases, cable route works, civils and general building.We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager with the ability to interact and communicate at all levels, and can work efficiently under pressure.We can offer an excellent working environment, based in Northfleet, Kent that is easily accessible from the A2/M25. We pride ourselves on our friendly working atmosphere where hard work and commitment are rewarded and there are progression opportunities available for various roles.The role will include the day to day project delivery to include management of site activity, programming work and resources, health, safety and environmental planning and monitoring, client and sub-contractor liaison and reporting on project progress.The key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Attendance at pre start meetingsFully understanding the programme, its requirements and dependenciesInput and production of method statements and associated documentationAssist Project Manager with commercial aspects where requiredAssist with management of all resources for execution of works including labour, plant, materials and transportAssist the Project Manager ensuring that the project teams carry out the works to a high quality standard, safe manner and to agreed timescales whilst maintaining profitability and ensure that all incidents/accidents and near misses are reported correctly.To direct workers and oversee specific parts of the project.To study specifications to determine appropriate construction methods.To requisition plant and materials necessary for construction.
